Payroll Management refers to the administration of the financial record of employees’ salaries, wages, bonuses, net pay, and deductions. Throughout the course, you will learn these issues with practical examples. At first, you will understand the payroll management system which will be followed by the discussion on the difference of payroll management system between the small and large firm. Then, the course teaches you the basics of payroll system such as setting up a payroll system, necessary paperwork, communication issues, etc. Next, the course focuses on the Payroll Systems in the UK. Additionally, the procedures of running a successful payroll system, techniques for dealing with HRMC in Relation to New Employees, the right ways of calculating net and gross pay, etc. will be discussed in the course. You will also understand Statutory Pay and learn about the minimum rate or wages for different types of works in the UK.
The techniques of dealing with online PAYE system for employers, the basic information about the National Insurance Contributions System (NIC), Employment Allowance, understanding the Retirement Scheme, using Payroll software, etc. will be covered in the course. Finally, you will gain knowledge about the Legal Obligations associated with Payroll systems.
Method of Assessment:
This course does not involve any MCQ exams. Students need to answer 2 assignment questions to complete the course, the answers will be in the form of written work in pdf or word. Students can write the answers in their own time. Each answer needs to be 200 words (1 Page). After submission, the tutor will check and assess the work.
